Golf Course Ponds
Golf course ponds tend to be located on or near well-fertilized fairways receiving high concentrations of nutrients from water runoff making a fertile environment for algae growth. Algae are constantly introduced by rain and wind; and are a critical component for the healthy environment of a water site. When an algal bloom occurs, it is usually a symptom of an imbalanced in the ecosystem. These blooms can detract from the overall appearance of the course. If the pond is used for irrigation, the algae may interfere with the operation of the irrigation systems.
Golf Course Superintendants are always looking for new tools for grounds maintenance and were one of the first to install these units in their watersites with successful results. Watersites are incredibly complex. No two ponds seem to be alike and consequently the treatment often differs. If uncontrolled algae growth is the problem, call 413-531-0393 for a free no-obligation consultation to determine if these units will improve the appearance and make the water useable for irrigation.
